I have two of these Presidents...and one of mine has the same problems as yours - a broken hinge. It has, " HAEC OLIM MEMINISSE JUVABIT" engarved on the back and the dial is a custom with what I assume is Latin letter-code instead of numbers....a real "Da Vinci Code" dial!

The motto of the U of Va's Jefferson debating society- "One day we will remember these times (things) fondly. "

Thanks Rev Rob! I wonder what the strange lettering means on the dial (see below)? This is the Di Vinci Code I was referring to...

Did you read my post-message to you at the end of the discussion on the Dent-Bulova Post Rev Rob?

WOW- You nailed it! That's it...Howard Knight! I wonder who he might have been....Must have been someone special to get a custom dial done with his name on it!

Thanks, I just did. Interesting story, and really a good snapshot of the young Churchill. I had given up on ever owning a Dent, but I find myself scouring around again.....

Not a match to any ads on this site for a President. The president in ads has bezel horizontals very differently engraved to this, until 1930 when the engraving style changes to "cushion,XX" design.

Picture used for ID is from a well known price guide, noted for many inaccuracies.

Unknown.
