estateauctions Sellers Description mentions mybulova.com

This auction is for a circa 1929 Bulova Wrist Watch, we think it matches the face of the 1929 Fleetwood, but this one has a 17 Jewel 10AN movement. (We matched it on the mybulova com site - what an incredible Bulova resource!!) We may have it wrong, if so, let us know and we will get it up here.”

You have it exactly right Sir!

Back in the 1920s, actually... Madame Curie died from Radium poisoning maybe even earlier than that??? (The co discoverer/developer of Radium in 1890s, as I recall from grade school???)

Radium paint was pulled in the 30s, I think? However they KNEW it was bad news... LONG before then!

The Fleetwood was the 2-tone model. ID is correct IMO

BINGO... A "two tone" text description... and a COLORED ad settles that... eh?!

What diid WWII have to do with the 1929 watch in question? Did I miss something?

All three Fleetwood ads in this post indicate one horizontal row of engravings on bezel.  Subject watch has two horizontal rows of engravings.  Some other minor differences which could be artists rendering issues, but the issues persist in three apparently different ads.

I see what you mean. Same watch as Will's, same jewel count, same engraving, just radium hands and dial as opposed to gilt on Will's, and hands are probably not original.

Ambassador- two horizontal rows of engravings.  1930 ad below:

See this 1931 Ambassador record for the various discussion leading up to Ambassador for subject watch.
