We have no way of knowing what generation of copy these ads are in. I'm having a hell of a time with my 1925 to 1930 watches having to be an exact match to whatever generation of distored ads.

The frustrating & funny thing about it is that our panel members insist that the actual watch match the ads verbatim & especially when they have never encountered the real watch before. But without the ads, we would be in a heap of trouble.

Take for example the Mercury I have in the database, it is said by our Horological Hall Monitors that the watch does not match the very bad ad. However, the shape of the watch and the shape of the watch in the ad do not match any other watch in the database. I think in this case that shape alone is justification for a match. It is still unknown.

If all parts are correct I'd say it was released in the later half of 1927.

The first letter scripted under the watch illustration... looks like a "Y" vs. a "T?"  LOL...

Oh yeah it must be a Yemplar!

I don't get what late 1927 has to do with the ID!

Wayne, only helping to look at narrowing down the period so we can find the correct ad.
