Watch Description

 Hi everyone, just joined your community to see if you can help me identify my grandmothers watch. Thanks to some of your members I now know it's a Miss Liberty. I am still trying to narrow down the year. Im actually leaning toward 1931 as the winding knob has a simulated emerald on it and it seems the earlier ones didnt.

The watch is a late 20's early 30's Miss Liberty, and it looks like it may have the orginal filgree band.

The box set is from the 1950-51 Academy Awards.

There should be a date mark like a cresent moon, shield or omega stamped on the movement to help you date it.

 Thanks so much - I had another collector point me in a similar direction and I found it in a 1929 ad - Im squinting my eyes to look for the stamp. I also saw an archived one on this site with saphires. Im pretty excited about it. My dad was thrilled when I told him - its the last thing he had of his mother's and we both are wondering why she kept it in the wrong box - though I will admit the Academy Award box is pretty awesome.

Nice Keepsake Jennifer, I have seen them with both Sapphires and Emeralds. I think the year released makes a difference.

I would be looking around real hard for the AA that goes with the box also...

Moving this watch back to Unknown as the case is different from all advertised Miss Liberty's.

It still may be a ML, we just need more proof that the model was released with this case shape.
