Watch Description

Hi all - just snapped this on the bay. not sure but I think it might be a 1921 Justine,  I can't quite make out the movement details as yet but I do think it is all Bulova.  Merc found the ad for me me and it certainly looks the part. Once I get my hands on it I will ad further details. According to the seller its running fine. I think you will agree those emeralds do look good I have updated the info and its certainly looks more like a Justine see jewel count and movement

Thanks George/Merc
I'm not seeing that ad in our database, but am continuing to see other period ads for similar watches and the precious stone count text is always that of the watch/bezel, and does not include those on the band.
Here's a snippet from a 1931 ad showing this stone count discrepancy for Minerva model.  Click on graphic for full ad.

A couple models in this 1930 ad, (including Honora from above) also show this stone count issue for models advertised first party showing bracelets supplied at Point Of Sale w/ obvious stones like subject watch.

Just saying we can't see the ad graphic you/Merc supplied very well, but we can read the text, and text does not discribe your watch in stone count based on pattens in many, perhaps all other period ads for similar ladies watch models.

Looks like Lisa has a very similar watch, but her example has 1933 15 jewel movement in a 1933 case.

I found the ad on Lisa's site,  and its a 1931 Gensler Lee ad.  May or may not be using Bulova Matt graphics, but I'm not seeing Bulova on any of the watch graphics in full ad.

And the full ad is revealing.  There is one part of the snippet showing a Miss America, and stating 6 stones in the "large short text", and then stating 4 on case and two on bracelet in the "smaller long text".

There is more text for Justin snippet, but in the Justine "smaller long text" it does not state if any of those stones are on band or just on the case.  The graphic is no clearer than the one used in root record.

So now I see there is an ad, albiet thrid party, which has an example of text including stones on the bracelet in discription (Miss America model).  Its not a stretch for the Justine snippet to be counting stones on bezel and bracelet too, even though it doesn't state this distinction.

I'm now at two ticks tentative for Justine ID, but with reservations.

This movement is the only one in our database with a zero for the leading digit of mvnt SN.  Perhaps a typo, or mistruck other digit?
