Actually JP, it should be a unknown or a 1 tick non confirmed for now, it has the case characteristics of a AC "F", the dial of a AC "C" and a 21J movement that we have not yet seen in a AC. For all of the American Clippers in the database, this is the only 21J.

Until we have some proof that the  AC's we also available with 21J movements, unknown... it could be a entirely different model, or even a frankenbully,  so until we start to see more of these, it is 1 tick from me. Anything more would be a guess and not very reliable for a ID.

I agree with OT. 1 tick.

As to the difference in case shape between the American Clipper and the Ben Hur mentioned earlier in the thread, while both are stepped the AC takes a Hexagonal crystal and the Ben Hur is Tonneau.

I will concede to the 1 tick theory after much thought and deliberation but in the end you are right my friend it is a strange one indeed. 1 tick from me.

For anyone reading this so far into the discussion. This watch has been ID'd as a 1937 Bulova American Clipper, however please note that the inclusion of a 21 jewelled movement is incorrect for this model, whiich was only sold with a 17 jewelled movement.
