Well, guess I better add my watch to this discussion.  Mine is a bit different from the original poster’s, but I can’t find any indication from the ads that mine is legit either.   The movement is an 8AD 17 Jewels dated 1951.  The case back is dated 1953 (L3).  I'll post a pic of the back as well.  Watcha think?

Now guys its a gift not a collectable so lets not just tell him to pass because it has no value as a collector, its still a nice looking watch, just not worth what an original correct watch would be to a collector.

This case looks to match the Ivanhoe model from the early 1950's
