The subject watch looks like it has the wrong crystal installed. The sides look straight but the crystal is slightly curved, you can see gaps at both end corners.

The banker takes a MX407 crystal which measures 26.1 x 15.1 mm, which is close to Jabs measurement, depending if it was measured in case.

I agree, the crystal looks like it may not be the correct one for the case and the photo is giving us a false look at the case.

Early Ranger....

but it seems that Ranger has another dial, missing part of the number "6" (compared to mine and Will´s)

I agree jabs.

Everything about the Watch says 'BANKER'

if We had a 'RANGER' to compare the subject to maybe, but the descriptive text, Date of and image provided by the ad do not match.

I know the years are out, but I'm finally in for the Bulova Chief.

This a  March 28,1941 advert.

Looks like a match to me.

Yeah, this one's getting away from us. I can't go with Banker because of the engraving. More inclined to go with the ad above - Chief - as opposed to Ranger.

Yep it's deffinetly not a Ranger from this period.

Didn't we "guess" 1938 is a little early for a "Chief"? I gotta go look at some ads again :)

So what gentlemen, you have reached to some conclusion?
