Watch Description

Inherited watch from my grandmother.  Don't know how to open the watch to look inside and I am not willing to try myself.  Unsure if the year really is 1940 but I had to put something and the closest model I could find on here was the 1940 Carolyn model.  But the top and bottom of the case is slightly different so it could be a different year.

Case actually corresponds with Carolyn from 1948 advert

dial and hands do not match, but it may be due to the fact that we do not have advert from early forties

The case design is certainly a match for the Carolyn. The case serial number isn't really helping us here as it looks like the first number could be a mistruck 8, but then again it could be something else.

Hello Miss Shannie, welcome to myBulova. What a wonderful keepsake you have from your Grandmother! I think watches are just about the most personal things we have. While rings have much associated with them we USE our watches dozens of time a day, they are so much more than jewelry.

I would agree that this girls name is Carolyn. Be sure to have her serviced regularly if you plan to wear her. She can last another lifetime if well maintained.

I would also agree with Carolyn. Not sure what the year of manufacture is; seeing the movement will help in that regard. I could not find any early 1940s ad showing this model.

I'm good w/ Carolyn.  Two ticks tentative.
