I had a jeweler open the case so I could find the date marking. It is the Omega.

This watch was my wife's grandmother's. She and her husband are both now deceased so I can't get any back-story. I know they were married in 1932.

1940 would be the correct Year of manufacture as these smaller Ladies styles began to appear in 1936.

I've scoured the on site ads dated 1939 - 1945 without luck in finding a match.

Ah, you missed it by one year!, Step back to 1938 and meet.......

Miss America (there she goes)

Stephen - I think you mentioned that this is a family piece? Can you give us a bit more info in your description above? I think the family stories are fascinating.

Geoff, thanks for the research. I posted what little more I know to the description. I am going to speak to my father-in-law about it to see if he knows any history. He was born in 1937 and they were living in Colorado in 1940. Not sure what would have prompted this purchase/gift at that time. They were not poor, but they were not wealthy by any measure at that time either. That was the middle of the depression, etc.

Original matching bracelett as well. Good find with the advert Geoff. I agree with Geoff family pieces offer another level to the story and importance of a vintage Bulova watch. Love to hear more if you ever find out.

Miss America it is.
