1942 Conrad

Case back:14K GOLD FILLED,BULOVA and serial number

Inside case back:BULOVA,14K GOLD FILLED,NEW YORK

Movement:17 jewel 8AE movement has the date code for 1942(T)

Case is 14 k rose gold (gold filled),movable lugs

Dial:salmon coloured dial has dots for markers except the 12 which has a bar.Black hands and marked BULOVA.

This one looked pretty bad from the pictures on EBAY but I got it for ten bucks so I figured at least I'll get a movement out of it .It was so dirty that I thought there was no gold left on the lugs but after a good soak it turned out pretty nice. The lugs are a little bit crooked but fixable.

You stole this one Den. It's definitely a Conrad. Since it was made in 1942 during the war it has a silver base under the gold and the silver tarnish will bleed through the gold and make them look almost black after a period of time. It looks nice now.

Thanks Merc,I didn't know about the silver base, bonus. The lugs were completely black when I got it .Soaked it in homemade jewelry cleaner and buffed it with a polishing cloth.I'm going to try to straighten out the lugs and keep it as a survivor watch.I think it's got just the ri ght patina and the dial is really clean.Anyone know what the lug width shloud be?I'm getting different measurements with the crooked lugs

I think the Conrad takes a 15mm band Den. I've got a few here somewhere but you might die from old age before I can find them and measure.
