UPDATED INFORMATION INCLUDED - For the 3rd time!
This was an eBay rescue that I am trying to learn more about. Since someone has added rubies to the dial, I believe it may have been modified, perhaps extensively.
I am not a watch repair person, so I was very hesitant to dismantle the watch. I gave it a shot, and I have included photos of the movement and case interior. In addition to the "official" stampings on the part that holds the movement, it appears people have engraved other information into the case over the years.
The exterior case dimensions are 38mm (lug to lug), 32mm (w/o lugs) and 25mm wide.
I had previously believed there was no ID number on the back. I am a dolt. It was there all along and is shown above.
Based on the information on this website, it appears to be a 1943 model.

My thanks to everyone for their assistance with this evaluation. I've learned a great deal during this process, which will make owning this and other Bulova watches all the more fun. Based on my research, I can see where older Bulova watches could become a passion (or obsession!) of mine.
