I advise on Non-conforming, with respect to the nonbulova case and the dial marking

OK - that explains why I can not find the model

Thanks for the info

Agree, this watch is a classic case of a wonderful movement being re-housed in a non Bulova watch case and as such having a non-orignal dial that probably came with the case and had "BULOVA Movement" stamped on it.

Non-Conforming.

Can you tell me how old the watch is? Do you think someone would be intressed in the watch itself?

Don't know what to do with it.

It must be from my father or grandfather - found it when clearing out the house.

Hi Jackieod, thanks for sharing this one. The 8AH movement dates to the mid forties, it was available in 17 and 21 jewel configurations. I would date yours to 1946. My guess is that the movement was recased in the fifties as the replacement case looks to be that era. Depending on what your grandfather did for a living it's possible he damaged the original case OR purchased the watch in it's current case some time later than 1946. Perhaps it's a family mystery you can research. I would think the greatest value would be as a keepsake from him. By the way the number of watchmaker service marks in the case back indicate it was very well cared for.
