Watch Description

This is a 1947 Claire.  The case is 14K rose gold filled.  It has a working 5AC 17 jewel movement that is date stamped 47.  The bracelet matches well but is probably a replacement band.  Possible dial and movement replacement.

Welcome to myBulova and thank you for sharing your watch with us.  This is a lovely watch and I love the band, so dainty and it matches really well.

We recently had a long discussion on this model that I see you have seen.  I believe that based on the ads and ad dates late 1946 and 1947 was the changeover year for this watch from Victoria to Claire.  I would ID this as Claire.

I'd say that the case ID is correct, but the dial (and possibly the movement) is not original to the watch, possibly replaced at some point.

Good call, Stephen and variance noted. Although the dial font and color as well as movement date and jewel count match the ads (and case); the subject watch seconds track doesn't appear to match the opening shape as seen in ads.

Good catch Stephen!  Different track shape but still looks nice in the watch, I didn't even notice.

Admin: Shouldn't "Clare" be written "Claire" ? :-)

And how can I edit the description?

I will send better pictures soon.

Thanks
