I just restored this Ashford for Jay Langley, lifetime friend. It was his father's watch.

This was a popular case style, I have also seen it in other brands' lines.

Thank you for your comment Reverend Rob. I'm trying to understand why the watch posted doesn't fall into the non-conforming category. There is no evidence to support the case is a Bulova product.

 I found a case with that "E" in a diamond trademark.

So this Bulova has a case made by <E>Lite Watch Case Company and not Bulova.

If this watch were added to the DB Ztodsy, I believe it would be quickly identified as nonconforming. Am I wrong about that?

You're not wrong Stinky. It is non-conforming and should be labeled as such. The case is a cheap after market case made by the Elite watch case company. I have acguired a very cheap watch since this was posted in this exact same case. This case was definitely not made by Bulova.

Good catch; Agreed. Knowing what we know now as compared to what was known at 2015 posting date, this one should indeed be 

Non Conforming due to non-Bulova case.
