Watch Description

Hi all I've just received this nice little watch, but im having difficulty in identifying it. I think it may be a Clinton but the ones on the site have different movements to the one i have also there seems to be a number of differing names for this case depending on the year of manufacture. I would greatly appreciate any help members could give me in determining which model it actually is.  It is a nice clean watch running well and with very little patina on the dial. It came complete with a genuine bulova brown leather strap which i think is of the same vintage as the watch . Crystal is glass  The case is yellow Gold plated  marked 10k rolled gold plate and the serial number is 9406888

Kind regards to all donegd

Why is such a hurry guy? =)  Just put it in your auction as:  "Chief or Clinton... the myBulova guys couldn't decide" and call it good.  That way when your buyer comes here and puts it up we have someplace to start.  Haha...

Hi plainsman

This one is not for sale it goes in my collection when l get the second one which according  to the date 1946  looks like it is a KickerBocker l might sell that one. Why l asked for a concensus was l am trying to write up a detail log of the watches l now have.

Gives me something to do on a cold Sunday afternoon and keeps me off ebay for a while, as my wife is complaining at the amount of money l am spending on watches of late :-) Regards

George

George, there are a few Bulova watches that were given multiple names (this is one of them) and depending on the year/ad interpretation its often difficult to put a correct ID on them. Sometimes its takes us a bit of back and forth in determining the best answer.

I realise just how difficult it is to identify certain models now as i have just found another  one which looks exactly the same in the,  site listings  1942 Rockland  .

I was wondering if it was maybe certain retail outlets sold some watches renaming them, I know some large retailers do that now selling them under there own banner.

I really don't know  where he got that name from in this thread below.

Never seen an ad for a Rockland, despite multiple searches online for this name. The only Rockland I found is for an Illinois pocket watch!

No doubt off a crystal reference that was incorrect.

I've updated that listing accordingly.
