1949?I thought Arnold at first but the bezel on this one has engraving on all sides. Caseback,BULOVA 49 Inside case back,BULOVA,10K ROLLED GOLD PLATE BEZEL,STAINLESS BACK,NEW YORK. The 10BC 7 jewel movement is actually marked J9 and not A9.

I agree with Bobbee.

And most of the time you can find these still in great shape because by them only having 7 jewels they require servicing at more frequent intervals than the higher jewel models. I think budget minded people originally bought these and didn't pay to have them serviced but rather when they quit running they just put them aside and bought another watch.

I did have this one tentatively identified as the Maxim but wasn't quite certain as I didn't see an example in the database.It sure looks like the one in the ad.I wonder why the movement is marked j9 instead of the usual A9 or just 49.

I've seen them marked that way too Den, but I have no idea why.
