I believe this is a "Director", but not sure. It is a very clean and runs very good. I am curious about one thing. The date code on the case is "A9". The letter "A" is not on your date code list. Could Bulova when they started using the date codes, started with an "A" but then dropped it to use the code system that they did use? Also my wife has a ladies Bulova with a code date of "A9" on the movement.

You are correct, it is a Director, and A9 would be 1949, but it is not on the date code chart, J9 is, but I think it should be A9 instead, I have never run across a J9 in all of the watches I own.

What is the date code on the movement?

The movement is marked L0, 1950, the case back A9. Thanks for the comments.

I just found two watches I forgot about that have the J9 code.
