Watch Description

Hi all I would like the panels help in identifying this ladies watch please

Just received this little cocktail watch today. the watch is 19.05 mm long with out lugs and 16.63 wide without the crown.  the glass domed crystal is 12.68 mm x 10.98 mm wide

It has a 6BS 17 jewel movement with a 47 date mark.

The case is marked inside :- Bulova ,10k rolled gold plate bezel, stainless back, New York. On the outside it is marked Bulova LO and has the serial number 032111.

The strap looks as though it may be original. but I cant see any markings on it.  the watch is running strong, but the dial is definitely in need of some work.

I believe you have a Lady Bulova Donegd. This is an ad from 1950.

Sure is close...probably a match.  The watch seems to have "two round wraps" at the end of the lugs.  The ad may have a slightly different lug ending?

Now that I look at the watch and the ad side by side, I see several differences. Donegd's watch has grooves in the case that go down to the crystal at the top and bottom and the ad doesn't show that. And the example has 9 little humps around the sides of the crystal and the one in the ad only has 7. I think I'm wrong on this one.

Keep in mind this ad is an artists rendition, not a photograph. I think it's an LB.

Good point Bourg01. I think what we need to do is find another real example of this model and compare it with Donegd's.

I found two more matching the watch in question.

Since the Lady Bulova was a popular model and I found two more examples matching Donegd's watch rather quickly, I'm thinking the ad just doesn't have all the fine details showing. These two examples I found are both from 1951.

A 1951 ad that was on site.

Everything looks to be a match to the Lady Bulova, except the band - which may have been the main distinction between some of these ladies watches. We also have a number of years between movement and case. I would vote for Lady Bulova
