Couldn't pass this one up for $25. It runs good and looks good to be 72 years old.  I think it's going to fall into the unknown category.

The case looks like a His Excellency "LL" like this one https://www.mybulova.com/watches/1948-his-excellency-7079?page=1 but with a Tuxedo dial like this https://www.mybulova.com/watches/1950-director-3393.  So the question is, is this an Unknown different model or is it a Tuxedo with the plain case variant?  I guess in either case it is Unknown.  Like this Unknown https://www.mybulova.com/watches/1949-unknown-10318 and this https://www.mybulova.com/watches/1950-unknown-12520 so I think it is a legit model with this case and dial.

What a great buy for $25, congrats!

Unknown for now

I also think it's a legit model because there's so many of them floating around in this same configuration. But an ad showing them hasn't appeared so far.

Cool watch Merc. I say we tag this as an His Excellency as it is the case for the LL variant. I'm willing to note the dial swap/update but am torn as to whether it should be entered as the LL variant noting the dial change. To me there is no question that the case is an His Excellency.

I don't really think it's a dial swap or update and all His excellency models were 21 jewels whereas this one is 17 jewels. The Squadron and the Beau Brummel have the same case, but the dial is what differentiates them. I'm inclined to think it has it's own model name but hasn't been determined yet. But that's just my two cents.

I'm of the mindset this is legitimate as seen, and likely a Tuxedo variant. Quite a few in the database in both yellow and white gold plate with both black and white diamond dials. Rather than cut and paste snippets of text, I refer to this one  and the debate presented there.

I'd agree to a His Excellency unk model at this time.

I have to go with unknown like the others in the DB.

Panel - I have three Unknown and two His Excellency, going once, going twice.......anything further?

Were the Tuxedos only solid gold?...need to check.

Advert match wise this is very close (except the hands...replaced). Perhaps the price hike is due to the diamonds.

Advert is dated 1950.

Ahh that right, we've had this conversation before, were only the engraved case is the Tuxedo.

I'm still in two minds about this.
