Watch Description

Hi panel, the movement indicates a code L1 and is an 8AC.  THREE "diamonds" adorn the dial, which is in remarkably good condition.  Case needs a small clean,  I believe this to be a 1951 Tuxedo.  I would be grateful for any comments from the panel.

I think the Tuxedo was solid gold.  Maybe a His Excellency?

Correct, the Tuxedo model was solid gold.

This particular model has had some debate in the past. Engraved versus un-engraved case.

Here is another example of this model that we discussed a while back: https://mybulova.com/watches/1948-unknown-5007

The general consensus was a Bulova His Excellency (no variant).

Thanks for the comments panel.

Extremely interesting that you collectively have so much knowledge.

It is a great looking model with the diamond dial, like the Tuxedo that is solid 14k.  I thought maybe a His Excellency, however it can not be because it is 17 jewels and His Excellency watches are all 21 jewels.  Or the movement was replaced.  I am thinking this could have been a jewelry store model like this one.

I was so focused on finding the other example we have of this watch that I totally missed the 17 Jewels. That now makes sense why the movement is a 8AC.

No luck for me. My gut feeling is that this is a jeweler modification.
