My Dad recently died and left a drawer full of watches.  One is of interest.
On the back is marked...
10K ROLLED GOLD PLATE
BULOVA
L3

I understand L3 means 1953.

and at the bottom are the numbers...
7137011

I have looked carefully at the 1953 watch images on this site ( Bulova were busy watch makers! ) and i cannot find it, though the Hadley has a somewhat similiar face.

I do not know how to open a watch to see any internal markings.

Any suggestions on the model or value?

It keeps time, including the small second hand, but needs to be wound every day or two.

A side view photo of this one would be a big help. It's hard to tell if the lugs are level with the bezel or below it and how far below with just a frontal view.

Geoff's ad shows 4 Ambassador models all with different lugs so having different lugs doesn't sink the theory of this watch being an Ambassador variant.

"Geoff's ad" is one I posted, and I don't see the subject watch in there, do you?

The dial, hands, lugs are not a match for anything we have.

As for saying it's an Ambassador, this was once thought to be one too.

I know it's not a match for the subject watch, but the Ambassador watch second from left bottom shares some close similarities.

That is also the Ambassador 'B', and the only thing it has in common is the jewel count, and the basic case shape. .

All ad pics shown so far are of the Ambassador 'B', none match the subject.

Not saying its a match. Simply saying that it has a number of similarities, including the side lips.

Thus I'm still at tentative Bulova Ambassador, unknown variant.

We have since found an advert and a name for this watch in something bobbee found but I can't seem to find it again.

Unfortunately, I'm at Unknown for now.  The lug difference is notable.
