Seems Bulova couldn't make up their mind,"Water Resistant","Waterproof" and now we have "Watertite".Wonder what their test procedure were for these or was it a marketing gimmick.Todays watches clearly show as to what depth they may be waterproof to but what about the vintage watches?

Doesn't really matter I guess cause I remove my vintage's when I go to wash my hands

Just realized my 1953 auto also say's "Water Tite"

A bunch of different models state "Water Tite" on the back.  I think it ceased to be a model name--when used in that manner--and came to be Bulova's designation for water proof/resistant.  So, IMO, using those words on the back of the case as indication of a model name is a mistake.

Cases in point from our database:

1957 Commodore (mine)

1957 Convoy (Wayne's)

1953 Royal Clipper (two of them, actually) (both Fifth's)

Those are just the few where the poster bothered to state "water tite" in the additional information field.

Mark, look at the ad database for 1953. Last ad, Number 1, shows your watch as a "Clipper" as Lisa showed except now it's a '53 ad. Same ad shows a "Water-Tite" but is a different bezel etc.

Here is a 1954 ad that puts the Clipper and the Watertite in the same ad.
