Jim  I'd leave it like it is for now... the process is working, as the stars indicate.  Although other watertite watches in the database don't take the place of an ad or other strong indicator of ID, there is usually lots of info associated with them, and it's a great place for me to refresh my memory on what's been discussed to date.  If they have three stars, I check out why they received that rating and cary that into the subject watch.  If they have one or two stars, that's cool too because I think I learn more from the tough ones.

In my opinion this watch looks like the Clipper in the 54 American Airlines ad Watch is # 30.

Bob,

I'd agree with OT and Yourself that the Case and Dial appears to be 'CLIPPER' of sorts except the Caseback is missing its retaining ring and the Movement is Manually wound.

Non - Conforming or Unknown?

Watertite was a named watch, but also a way for Bulova to call a watch 'waterproof' without saying 'waterproof' ( an illegal claim). Bulova didnt name any watches on the back (that I am aware of) except model numbered watches.

I was thinking Clipper as well, but Fifth is right....no ring and manual...

Shooter I've seen five examples of Ambassador models from the 1960's, with case back similar to the two examples below: first example 1965 (M5) w/ Swiss 30J 12EBAD (screw w/ gasket on back to unlock stem)

Next 1967 (M7)18K bezel SS back w/ Swiss 30J 12ECACD
