Well DarHin..   you are the man!  Thats it!! Do you possibly know what year that crystal is from?   So my watch is a 1955 Ruxton with a Pelham crystal, possibly a Senator face and a 1959 21 jewel movement !  wow     The only question that remains, and will never be answered is,  how and where did my Dad acquire this watch. He wasn't the kind of guy that would customize anything.  It was surely purchased this way. Matbe the local jeweler in Brooklyn felt creative one day and came up with this little gem.  Thanks for your help...  Bill

Or it could just simply be a Pelham....I don't think we have seen that model yet in any ads.

This is why crystal dimensions are important. We can often eliminate models depending on the crystal. Sometimes the only clue to the model is a crystal reference.

As far as the year of the crystal the Perfit is from their #11 catalog. I don't know when it was published. The Watch Craft is from their 1957 catalog so we know it pre-dates then.

I believe the Ruxton was 17 jewels.  The following ad is used in this Ruxton listing.  I don't know the date of the ad.

BROKER.

1959 ad and the owner of the watch posted that it has a 1959 21 jewel movement, and this can be seen in the photo of the movement.

Side by side with a 1952 Ruxton ad.

It looks like they found a new name, dial, hands, higher jewel movement, and a new band for the earlier Ruxton case.

Looks like three panel members have voted one tick unconfirmed for this as Ruxton.  I don't think those "dips" on the case side are seen in any Ruxton ads.  Checking what's up with possible "Pelham" or didn't Shawn mention a similar "Moonbeam"?

EDIT: I gotta look at some "side photos" of other Ruxton in watch database, as it may be these "dips" are small and not noticable from a front view show.

Here is my 1953 Ruxton, sides appear different from the watch above, which shows the sides of the lugs flowing continuous along the side...Ruxton does not
