If anyone can tell me more information on this watch, I would really appreciate it.  Thanks!

Do you know how many jewels it has? I s the case back stamped L5?

It resembles some of the "Her Excellency" series from the late 40's with the square dial, but more info will be needed for a proper ID.

I have no idea how many jewels there are.  It's stamped L5 on the back of the case towards the top.  I really don't know much else.  L71845 is also stamped on the case back towards the bottom but when I tried looking that up there weren't any matches.

Here is another that is close, this ad is from 1959,

You may want to take it to a jeweler to find out what movement and the number of jewels in your watch. The serial number on the case does not mean much, there are no records from Bulova to translate anything. L5 would be 1955 model, but currently we have no ad's with this model from that year.

It was not uncommon for Bulova to carry over a model for many years and not change the name, but sometimes they would put a different movement in it and call it something else.  Positive identification is a learning process for many of us here and that is why good clear pictures, discription, jewel count and movement info is important in making a positive ID.

Thank you so much for the information!  I was planning on taking it to my jewelers next week.  I'll be sure to post what I find out.  Thanks again!
