Watch Description

I inherited this watch from my mother. She received this watch in 1960 for her high school graduation. It is marked "Bulova 1/10, 10k G.F." in several places. The face is white and the bracelet has a basketweave appearance. I am trying to restore the watch, and I have almost completed the task. After having some internal work done, I had the face cleaned and repainted and the bracelet portion polished back to its original brilliance. The only thing that is missing is the safety chain for the bracelet.

If anyone could give me any information about the watch and where I might be able to get the appropriate safety chain for it, I would appreciate it!

Let me check my parts kits.  I may have a safety chain for this type of bracelet.

I have a number of safety chains for the American Girl model of watch.  These look correct for the watch you have shown.  PM me your mailing address and I will send one out to you.

No Charge.  These came with some other parts I found a use for.

Hello Ddaca102090:

So sorry for the long delay. None of these messages went through to me & it's been so long that I had to re-register with the site. I would absolutely love to get an original style safety chain for this American Girl gold tone watch. I will try to send you a direct message with my details now. Again, I had to change my user name, so I am now: Vintage Gal .

Thanks again!

Daca, many thanks!!!

I'll have a look through the ads to see if this model can be identified.

I have a Bulova American Girl from 1959 with a similar textured dial, and  I have several Bulova American Girl watches from different years, but have never seen one with a band like this one.  Very unique.

I haven't heard back from 40sGirl yet, but the offer for the safety chain still stands.Model ID Status:

1957 American Girl "R" or "N" based on this 1957 Line book ad.  Seems like they made a type and the "R" should be yellow gold.
