I recently had the good fortune to pick up another example of this seldom encountered Beau on the cheap. Black dial with 3 diamonds. As received and keeping time.

1957 Beau Brummell "P"

as seen in the 1957 Linebook.131

It's interesting that the 2 currently documented examples are both dated 1957 and the serial numbers are only 334 apart.

Very nice pick up.  That is interesting, I wonder if it was a small batch that they did with the black dial.

I'm thinking the model / case style was low production. The brother of this watch, the white dial  BB "O" also currently has only 2 examples documented to the database. Both of those are also dated 1957; and the s/n's are only 511 apart.

Both "P" model s/n's start with a "B" and both "O" model s/n's start with a "C".
