I think we had a watch previously added that we believed was named in accordance with a feature of the watch and not the actual model name, due to the lack on knowledge from the advertiser.

Do we think that this is the case here as well? I have a feeling that they didn't know the model name so just labelled it 'Waterproof', which was probably stamped on the backcase.

Anyone agree or disagree?

Wayne,

It looks just like the dial on my 61' Sea King

Hands appear slightly different, textured verses 2-tone, no "waterproof" on the dial, and the luminous dots are inside instead of outside the nimbers, but that might be just a change from 57' to 61'

Here is the 1959 Senator ad that I had a brain fart with trying to figger why they made identical looking watches with different names. I do believe that my watch is a Senator. However, my watch doesn't have gold outlined luminous but, silver outlined luminous hands are the only difference. So give me a concencus on changing it to Senator.

Ticker,

Thanks, nice try. These chrome bezels are not in the least bit corrosion proof, should have been all stainless. I would not make a good Sea King.

I'm still looking to find one of the bands with the leather insert. Great Find on this ad Mr Plains! Thanks
