Watch Description

1957 Bulova Wrist Alarm

Stainless Steel case, top and bottom access, date stamped L7, dual Bulova signed crowns - top crown winds and sets time / bottom crown sets and activates alarm. Looks to be an original dial, luminous hands and markers, alarm hand with red arrow. Functioning Swiss 11AERC manual wind movement dated L7. Caseback does have a serial number, located to the left of the small rivet holding the interior post that works with the alarm feature.

Quite an interesting watch, a bit more complicated to take apart (& re-assemble) than the usual watch. No Wrist Alarm ads for this one have been found to date, but we already have three late 50s examples in the database and 'Wrist Alarm' is a proper model name as indicated in the '55 and '58 pricelists.

No argument from me Ken, Wrist Alarm, and a dandy one at that!

Beautiful 1957 Wrist Alarm.  Hope we can figure out what designates the variants we know of, and come up with a variant for this great example.
Here's a snippet from Fall 1958 price list Ken mentions in root record.

Looking back to Fall 1955 Price List, we see more info on the "A" and "G" variants.  Below snippet is from what I call "New Models/Updated Prices" section of the list. Both variants in Yellow gold.  The "A" and "G" are also the only variants listed further down in the cumulative models section of same price list.

The A and G were also in the November 1954 Price List Supplement which comes out monthly between the main quarterly price lists. Why would Bulova send out a monthly supplement?  It looks like the supplement only has new models or updated/new prices occuring since preceeding quarterly but before next quarterly.

So "A" and "G" are yellow (I'm betting G is solid gold?).  Explained in this thread, it looks like "B" and "C" are white case.  There's also a "D" variant latter in the model lists, without indication of case color, however as Bobbee notes in that thread, there could be differences based on the years between the vairants showing up....unless they have the same Internal Bulova model number in both lists.  Bobbee also noted Lisa also has a 1964 ad for an "F" variant.  Since our 1964 price list is for Spring (coming out in January), it could be the "F" was introduced after Jan 1964, and that's why its not in the list.

I just got one that looks exactly the same and has the case serial number of 702086. It runs perfectly and I got it for $70.

The 1958 LineBook #134 shows both the B and C variants. It appears that the difference, besides the strap option, is the case lug design. The lugs on the 'B' have an inward angle to them; the 'C' lugs are more thicker appearing and straight.

I would say that based on the lugs this one is the 'C' variant.
