Picked this up for...$.75...at a local thrift shop!  Wound it and it began to run very smoothly.  It has been keeping excellent time for over five days now!  One thing to note is that there is very little wear to the watch, and I would rate it at near mint condition.  Still looks new.  Great find on a great old watch!

The closest model I could find was the Clipper, however, the lugs on this watch seem to be sort of "art deco-ish" to me.

Thanks for having a look.

Just ordered a nice chestnut brown Hadley in 16mm.  Should look good!  I'm used to seeing my MM, Speedy or Seiko 007 on my wrist, so it'll take a while to get visually acclimated to the Bulova's size.  Smaller watches are cool though, and they bring to mind a time when big watches were rare to see.

As an afterthought We may very well have to come back and revisit the subject Watch in the near future based on the 1956 ad linked above.

It's evident now that in 1959 the Bulova 'SEA KING' model underwent a redesign to the 'thinnest waterproof we've ever made to sell at this price"

* Note the ad states 'New'.

ad Dated 1959 http://www.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/vintage_ads/Bulova_AD_1959_6.jpg

which in turn opens the door for a Model Name change to the Case design of the subject, which is hardly 'thin', to the 'CONVOY' in 1959.

In 1958 the subject (and its one piece Case design) may be the 'SEA KING' based on the 1956 ad, in fact at this time I'd bet the ranch that it is.

'SEA KING'

I don't want to blame anyone in particular here on this kick-a site, but it would've been nice if one of you guys could've told me how sexy my little Convoy Bully would look on a sweet brown leather strap!!!!!

I was thinking of selling this watch, but jeez, I dunno...  Looks really cool on leather.  Wear that watch with a button-down short sleeve shirt and chinos and it'd be the late 50's/60's all over again, man!
