Outside Case Back:  BULOVA L9  10K RGP Bezel, Stainless Steel Back  D973758
Inside Case Back:  Bulova Fifth Ave New York
Movement:  Bulova Swiss (BXW) 11AF 17 jewel L9 (date code 1959)
Dial:  White dial signed BULOVA, gilt hands, outer black printed minute track, subseconds in 10 sec intervals, recessed and completly obscuring the 6. Gold gilt Arabic numerals at even numbers, hashmarks at odd numbers.  SWISS
Crystal:  Round 26mm
Case measurements:  30.8mm x 38.3mm (not counting crown)
Lug gap: 16mm

Was going to call this the "Spotted Clipper" (based on dial spots which are almost impossible to see in person), but doesn't have charactoristics of Clipper.  Looks like the Senator in 1958 ad below.

The "Silvered dial. Black numerals" part of the ad discription doesn't fit...but the case shape is similar.  It's a start.   I can't tell from the ad if there is a recessed crown like in subject watch. Doesn't look like it. 
That's why I said "looks like the Senator..." vs "it's the Senator..."

I wouldn't worry about the dial description that much, nor the crown since the ad looks  an artists rendition which often lacked detail. The dials appearance and fonts match the ad and I'd say the case is bang on.

I'd go with the "Senator".
