The RR calls for white, perhaps this is a yellow variant of the same

I was thinking white dial, so maybe not the RR, but a BB certainly.

White is "RR", yellow is "QQ".

...but then we have this 1965 ad for the "SS", yellow or white. White is "RR", so yellow must be???

Maybe in 1960 the ID would be "QQ", and in '65 the "SS".

"QQ" looks right to me.

Bob, you are right, I not looked at price list, I agree with the variant QQ

Yep.  QQ variant.  Noting there is no "SS" in the most recent Spring 1964 price list, so maybe the ad Bob posted is for a new variant in 1965?  ...strange that Beau's were up to three and four letter variants by 1964, so would they release a two letter variant ("SS") the following year...or is the ad perhaps incorrect?   I guess we can't second guess ads too much.

Lots of 'SS' ads in the newspaper ads to back this one up Will. Maybe we might find later price lists to help confirm more ID's in the future.

Just realised, the 'SS' is 23 jewels, so not germaine to this ID.

guys, case and movement were made in 1960 would be held rather variant QQ from price list and not variant SS from 1965
