Greetings!

My mother in law gave me this Bulova watch as a wedding gift a few months ago, since she knows I have a soft spot for vintage things . She told me she bought it in New York in the early '60s, and I see that's accurate since it's a 1961 model.

It's 10k RGP and still works perfectly.

I'm pretty sure I've checked all ads we have here, and I also searched quite a lot online, but could not match it to any model.

As you can see its shape is a teardrop, and the closest resemblance I could find was with the First Lady from an 1961 ad, but it's not quite the same (not the same number of jewels, different numbers in the front etc). In any case, the only ladies Bulova with a teardrop shape I've found was First Lady.

First Lady was seen also with jewells 17, but the case should with diamonds, similar case is seen in many other watches of this period, for example Concerto and Sunburst full match with advert I don´t found for now   for comparison:     Unknown for me

I was also unable to find a matching ad. There were several ads with similar tear-drop shape models, but always slightly different. 1961 Unknown

Hello Ifiyenia, welcome to myBulova, I think you're most fortunate to have this lovely keepsake from your mother-in-law, it's a beautiful little watch. We recommend regular service on these watches if you plan to wear it regularly.

I don't see any direct matches either, alas Unknown.

Thank you all, guys!

So, this little keepake it's gonna remain a mystery. I guess it doesn't really matter.

It's a beautiful little watch either way, and I'm more than happy that I have it now.

Once again, thank you all :)

Could be either a Bulova Concerto or a Sunburst

I'm still looking a variant match with the dial combination.

I think it looks a lot like Bulova Concerto. I wonder how I did not notice it while I was searching for it!

Thanks a lot for the search Admin! :)

Are you able to confirm the movement jewel count?

How do you mean to confirm them?

The number of jewels is stated on the movement of the watch as "17 SEVENTEEN JEWELS" and the 6CF states for 1961-1964, 17 jewels models, right?

I can count six or seven jewels on the movement but I can't see the rest unless I tear the watch apart which I don't have the skills to do.

If you meant something else and I didn't get it, let me know :)
