MORE INFO......for help with dating my watch. I took it to a jeweler who said the diamonds are genuine and of exceptional quality. Inside it says Bulova.....23 jewels....5AD.....M1.....U.S.A. And a small arrow shape. I posted a pic of the inside I just don't know how clear it is. I want to sell it, but I want an estimated value. Can anyone help? I've been told Diamond Empress or Diadem? I've looked through thousands of watches but can't find another one like it. I has over 2 carots of diamonds. Keeps perfect time. And looks beautiful just as jewelry. Where would I go to get an estimated value? I've been told by a local jeweler that the diamond and gold value are approximately $5,000.00. He said that the real value is intrinsic. He had not been able to find another one like it. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hi mylifescrazy - to identify your lovely watch we pore over ads that we have stored in our database. Having the date the watch was manufactured gives a reference point as our db runs from the 1920's through the 1970's. The Bulova date code for the period we think your watch is from is a single letter followed by a single number. As Shawn (bourg01) states above he thinks the watch is 1960's. If it was a 1968 the code will be M8 - "M" for the 60's decade and 8 for the year. It's possible the code is on the case back but if it isn't it will be on the movement. If you cannot open it yourself a jeweler would and tell the code. Having this year might help us find a name for for this beauty. It is also helpful to know anything printed on the dial or engraved in the case back.

Yes it does. I can't quite make out the code on the movement in the picture you added, it is also M1? I assume the case is marked 14 k somewhere? 5AD refers to the model of the movement. Please understand that it is possible we will not be able to find the correct name but we will try.
