Watch Description

MORE INFO......for help with dating my watch. I took it to a jeweler who said the diamonds are genuine and of exceptional quality. Inside it says Bulova.....23 jewels....5AD.....M1.....U.S.A. And a small arrow shape. I posted a pic of the inside I just don't know how clear it is. I want to sell it, but I want an estimated value. Can anyone help? I've been told Diamond Empress or Diadem? I've looked through thousands of watches but can't find another one like it. I has over 2 carots of diamonds. Keeps perfect time. And looks beautiful just as jewelry. Where would I go to get an estimated value? I've been told by a local jeweler that the diamond and gold value are approximately $5,000.00. He said that the real value is intrinsic. He had not been able to find another one like it. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to mybulova . It is a very beautiful watch but we need to see the inside back and outside back of the case as well as the works side of the movement to even begin to start the research.

I have one similar in case design and dial but not as many diamonds. Mine dates 1968 so I would put this one about the same time.

Hi mylifescrazy - to identify your lovely watch we pore over ads that we have stored in our database. Having the date the watch was manufactured gives a reference point as our db runs from the 1920's through the 1970's. The Bulova date code for the period we think your watch is from is a single letter followed by a single number. As Shawn (bourg01) states above he thinks the watch is 1960's. If it was a 1968 the code will be M8 - "M" for the 60's decade and 8 for the year. It's possible the code is on the case back but if it isn't it will be on the movement. If you cannot open it yourself a jeweler would and tell the code. Having this year might help us find a name for for this beauty. It is also helpful to know anything printed on the dial or engraved in the case back.

Yes it does. I can't quite make out the code on the movement in the picture you added, it is also M1? I assume the case is marked 14 k somewhere? 5AD refers to the model of the movement. Please understand that it is possible we will not be able to find the correct name but we will try.

On the case back it has 14k....then under that it says Bulova and below that 302422....then inside it says M1....U.S.A......BULOVA ......23 jewels.....5AD.....And it has a symbol that looks like an arrow. Or a wide V

Totally agree with above, knowing more about the case and movement will possibly help as this could be one of a number of models.

Either way, a very beautiful vintage Bulova watch and no doubt worth its weight in gold and diamonds ;-)
