This watch was my Mother's. I am currently looking to restore it (and a 1939 rose gold Mido), to pass along to my two daughters.
Model Name: Duchess
Jewels: 23
Movement #: 5AD (inside on movement)
Movement Build Year: 1961 ("M1" on movement)
Place of Manufacture USA (stamped on movement)
Case Serial #: V18184
Case Additional Identifier: M2
Name on Case: Bulova
Case Build Year 1962 ("M2" on outside of case) Inside cover of case is hand etched "C1003T4" "767"
Wristband Adjustable metal stamped "Speidel USA Adjustable" next link stamped "10K GF Top Caps 68"
Description Silver case with 7 small diamonds at 6 o'clock end of dial, and 3 diamonds at 12 o'clock.
My question would be whether this should be sent to a Buliva's service center (New York) for cleaning and/or restoration, or are their other options that might work better.
Geoff,
Thank you, and the other panel members for your responses and comments.
With our youngest daughter getting ready to graduate from college, and no other children at home to justify keeping a 5 bedroom house in Dallas, my wife and I recently move to Austin TX for a change in scenery. So we live in Austin, but regularly travel back to Dallas to visit friends.
