I listed the no. on back of watch as the Case Serial No. However, there are 2 letters? that are not clearly indentifiable to me. The 1st looks like a side happy face (: then 238, then it looks like kind of a crescent C then 9. I looked very hard for a Mvmt Ser No. but could not find anything on the inside where the USA, Movement Model '5AD', & Date Indicator 'M2' were stamped. On the inside of the Back Case, the following is stamped: J14KT GOLDJ (<--this last J is a backwards J) then underneath is the name JACKAY.
If the box is original to the watch then this particular watch would be a La Petite 'YYY'. Advert below puts it at $200 in 1963. The 1964 price guide lists the La Petite 'YYY' as $200.
I've recently purchased one of these with a 1961 dated movement. Will add to the site shortly to cross reference the case and movement details.
Curious aspect is the December 8, 1963 advert below states 'New', yet we have this and mine from 1962 and 61. There is no 'YYY' variant in the 1961 price guide. Perhaps Bulova were once again using up stock movements in these new cases (1963)
+1 on La Petite, unknown variant. Good use of price lists to suggest possible "YYY". Not in 1961 list, but appearing in 1964 list. Our 1964 price list only includes the cumulative model section, as the "new and/or updated prices/models" section was not included in the original doc provided by Bruce Shawkey.
