Watch Description

Team  - This watch came in a BULOVA AEROJET case however I have not been able to find a picture or details on this particular model. The face of the watch only has BULOVA in the top half and Automatic in the lower half.

Cheers Greg

Hi Greg welcome to myBulova. Everything we have in the dB for Aerojet is marked as such on the dial so unless we know the dial is refinished I don't think it's Aerojet. Having said that is does have some similarities. I''I've looked through all our watches and adverts and so far have not found a match, several close but not quite the same.

For now I'm thinking Unknown. It's a nice watch.

Geoff,

Thankyou for your reply. This watch was presented to my late uncle for 25 years service with Alcoa Australia. The inside of the storage case has a jet plane symbol (Boeing 707) with BULOVA underneath then AEROJET underneath followed by BULOVA INTERNATIONAL.LTD underneath. As my uncle was an old school English gentleman I would say the storage case would be the original one the watch came in.

Cheers Greg

OK - so I've always believed this case back style was used internationally and not in the States. I'm not sure why Bulova did that but this is more support for my belief.

I'm going back to 1964 Aerojet on this one. Can we see a photo or two of the case Greg?

MLB is Maeder-Leschot of Biel, Switzerland. These cases are commonly found in the International series.

Aerojets typically had the name on the dial. I'm in two minds about this one as if we take away the box aspect it could be a Date King/Sea King.

I'm tentative Bulova Aerojet.

For me the dial should also have the Aerojet on it, like we see in other models. Also, why go through the trouble of having the display box have Aerojet and not the dial. I agree with Geoff that this caseback design is one that was used internationally; and I do not see any import code on the movement. I am unable to match the watch to any ads we have; have to go with Unknown model at this time.

To your point Ken, I don't think this watch was imported to the US, sounds like Greg's uncle was a Brit working for an Australian firm. The watch case is marked "International", this being a family piece supports it being original to the watch.

I'm staying with Aerojet.
