In reply to Surf King "GW", was the dial by Geoff Baker
There were not as many Surf King variants in the Model lists as I thought there would be.
The Fall 1961 list gives us some case color in the "newer watches" section.
Further down in this 1961 list- after the "newer watches" section- in the "Cumulative" model section, it only has the same four watches listed as available.
By Spring 1964 (the last list we have) there were still only 7 variants available in the cumulative section.
Not that many variants for a watch series with two variant letters. We see the GW appear by 1964, but dial color is not given. The BW, DW and FW have Black dials (Blk).
Confirming model and variant from the 1964 Line Book BAWD0158 with some assumptions. According to the line book it lists the bracelet Surf King as EW (white) and FW (black). It only lists one with a strap and that is the GW (white). According to the sales book referenced above the HW was (black) therefore we can attribute this one is most likely the Surf King HW.
