Why would mine not be a BB?Jabs's 1966 example is so designated and the link to Bobby's 1965 ad naming it a BB sure looks legit.I thought the 1965 and up models had changed names.Hmmmm!

There is a 1965 ad posting showing this version as the Beau Brummell (although the lugs are thicker than the ad above)

The black and white ad above states "I", but does not specify yellow or white as this variant; same situation in the 1966 ad:

I am good with Beau Brummell no variant (we don't know the color of "I", only that it is either yellow or white).

So, can we conclude that in 1967 these became the Diamond Excellency models based on the 1967 ad, and any DEs in the database prior to 1967 should be re-evaluated as BB? I could not find a DE ad pre-1967

Ken - I'll submit the two Diamond Excellencies linked above to the panel for re-identification. I always was a bit tentative on the DE ID anyway, I don't think the 1967 advert actually shows the name.

In light of the Beau Brummell ad, I'm going with Beau Brummell.
