The case back states "10K Rolled Gold Plate" then "Bulova" then "M6" - it is a 1966. I cannot (do not want to - I am an amateur) open the case to see the movement and other markings. I purchased in January 1981 - was told it is a 1954; now I know from the date code that it is a 1966. It is a manual watch. Please note that Roman numerals are used for the hour markers. On 1/18/12 at 12:Noon EDT I attempted to remove back from case and was not able - fear of breaking it.
Possible Surfmaster "A"
This link will help you open it up to confirm the movement and also gives crystal spec's for it so it can be positively ID'd.

I believe this could be Banker "O" . This ad is from 1970 but it is possible it existed a few years earlier. I originally thought the lugs did not match but now believe the lugs are simple bars and that the bar going between the lugs is the end of the strap that holds the spring bar.

There are two possible variants for this style. We have ads describing a difference of a gilt or a silver dial. There are a couple ads showing the 'N' variant stating "gilt or silver". Then there are 'O' variant ads stating specifically the "gilt dial". Because 'O' is more specific to gilt, I am leaning to believe that 'N' is the silver option.
Is subject watch a silver dial or gilt?
