HI all...I recently accquired this 1967 (M7) with a bright blue face, red sweep & stainless steel case. Any and all info will be greatly appreciated. So far all I know is this appear to be a model Up Down Day Date "Q" (I hope this case style has a better name than just "Q" though.) I can find pics of the all black version from 1970-71 (U?) but not much on this one yet.  I did find an ad from 1968 that described this watch with a blk/white drawing which said it came with a blue band too.

It really is a great looking watch in person & it runs although it loses time. There's a small amount of scratching/rubbing around the roman numeral III but otherwise it's in great shape! The tell tale 'hum' is  humming so I've no reason to believe the movement has been replaced with modern works. I have not opened up the back yet and will probably wait till I send it in for repair. But I'd like to know more; there was one sold on Ebay a year or more ago but again there was no pic available. It described it exactly and said it was an unusual and rare style with the red sweep...

Thanks very much!

CRG

PS: The 218 movement is a slightly educated guess going by the stem @ 4

Hi socalclint - welcome to myBulova. This one kind of has me stumped. I don't see this dial style ( day @ 12 / date @ 6) until the early 70's. I didn't think the 218 model was around in 1967 although I don't remember the first year of production for it.

Normally I would tag this an "Accutron Day Date" but I'm confused on the year.

1968 ad.

Date and Day "Q". "Blue dial and band".

Date and day "Q" 1971 ad,  "matching dial and band", no mention of colour but very dark picture, even lugs are hard to see, look at the bottom of the Deep Sea next to it.

In 1972 this dial changed to a different set-up, with the date and day on the right:

Second right, 1972.

Accutron Date & Day 'Q' works for me. I've always liked this setup.

Q w/ blue dial. Two ticks Tentative.  Nice watch!!!   Three ticks for how it's now listed as generic Day & Date.
