Watch Description

My grandfather passed his Bulova automatic down to me a couple of years before he passed away.  Is it possible to identify this watch without removing the back cover?  The watch works well and has not been updated from what I can tell.

Nice! Thanks for sharing your heirloom with us.

Bulova Snorkel "G" seems to be a match and we have seen them dated 1960 thru 1968.

Like this one. The dial text differs, this may be a year of production variation.  Seeing the back of the case would help, also the movement would give an accurate date for the watch. How did you arrive at the date of 1968?

I could not find any variant for the watch mounted on a leather strap, so would agree with the "G" variant.

If the watch is from 1968 it should have a 'M8' stamp somewhere on the case and movement.

Bulova Snorkel G is a good ID. since the case back of this watch won't have a date code on the outside we can use 1968 as it's the last year.
