Watch Description

Hiya - I've been looking for an accutron for a while and this one caught my eye. It has an M8 case and an M9 movement. The dial is matt black with applied hour markers, logo and text. The hour markers have a white line along them and a luminous dot at the ends. The hour and minute hands have luminous infill, but the second hand does not. inside the case back it has 704 engraved inside a box and also CB or possibly GB. The number 344 is written in black marker pen which I believe to be the case/model reference. I shall just enjoy it for a bit, but will eventually relume the hands, replace the crystal and gently polish the case.  So, a few questions if I may... 1. Do y'all think the second hand is original (it's an odd length) and should it be lumed? 2. Any recommendations on the closest crystal which is easy to come by? Would this be a Sternkruez ACT or ACTH that I can get from Cousins? 3. Has anyone ever tried replacing the crown seal on these? Is it just an o-ring trapped behind an interference fit washer? 4. Any ideas what Accutrons sold for when new? Were they significantly more expensive than a mechanical watch??

Thanks for any info, Stuart

1969 Accutron Calendar is as close as I can get for ID.  Not finding an ad suggesting model name/number for this one.
I don't have answers to your questions stuartbaker104

Similar to the this 1968 Calendar, but yours has a beautiful black dial.

Hi Stuart, welcome back. The second hand does appear shorter that it should be, I'm not certain it's original. I've seen it with a red tip but I don't recall it being lumed although it looks like it could be. Not being a watchmaker, I'll defer question 2 & 3 to the experts. Regarding the price, check the advert dB's, they were about double the price of a mechanical.

Accutron Calendar is my ID vote, I could not find anything matching in the ads.

I've look through all our vintage Bulova adverts, bith full and part and cannot find a match for this watch, other than to say it's part of the Bulova Accutron Calendar series.
