Very nice Bulova Accutron Calibre 218 Spaceview, It looks all original as well ! The 218 Spaceview was almost solely produced for promotional purposes and few were released to the general public.

so this would be worth restoring?  Did it have a leather band when produced?

Also can you recommend a repair shop.

Would this still be classified as a SpaceView, or just a 'skeleton' style Accutron?

Didn't Spaceviews all have a 214 movement?

I believe Bulova called it a Spaceview but I'm not certain, 218's are not my strong suit...

Hi zocko, welcome to myBulova. I'm curious if you're the original owner when and where you got this one. I can't recall seeing an Accutron in this configuration. I like it.

Yes I'm the original owner.  I don't remember the occasion of when I bought this but I was living in a western suburb of Chicago those years and wasn't traveling.  I remember being impressed with the date feature. I think I replaced the battery once then when it ran out I stuck it in a drawer and didn't look at it for 40 plus years till the new Accutrons came on the market. Then I went looking for it.   I also replaced the band with a Speidel  so I must have worn it for some time.

I'm considering having it restored if it's not too crazy. Can you recommend someone?

I also inherited an Omega Electronic from 1976.

The one thing I do know about this watch is it's a real thing, Bulova did make a 218 spaceview, Just not very many of them and the ones they did make sold poorly...

I can't remember where but I believe someone had a Bulova ad for the 218 spaceview, Unfortunately, I don't archive Accutron 218 info so I don't have it...

I guess I don't really see a match. I would be tentative naming it a Spaceview.

Panel?

I'd agree with tentative Spaceview.
