Additional Information:

This was my grandfathers watch which I inherited upon his death in 1983. It keeps excellent time but I can't find an age or a model for it. There is no date markings as described on Bulova dating methods. i have guessed 1969 based on nothing.

Thanks for identifying this one for me!!

I don't think it's an Oceanographer. 23 J with a 'linen' dial marked Automatic...... My thoughts run to the early 60's. This rather distinctive caseback appears on early water proof watches, like the original snorkel.

I suggest taking it in and having the case back removed and finding the date code on the movement. Take a couple photos too please, of both the movement and the inside of the back.

Unknown for now.

Redfella, having the back removed and noting the movement and any inside case details will help us narrow down the age and model.

The hands are more 1970s. A search through the adverts reveals nothing at this stage..
