Nice watch John. It seems as if Bulova is mixing us up on the variant for this one. Here's a link to the full size advert you posted:

http://www.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/vintage_ads/Bulova_AD_1971_…

This advert shows the same watch but labels it an "F" variant (silver dial)

Another advert showing it as "F"

Here it's shown as "G" but states gilt dial

and finally, as a "G" with champagne dial

At this point, I'm confused as to what the correct variant should be. I know I'll vote it an Accutron Date and Day, I'm leaning to the "G" variant

In the First Ad with the Link, a couple of differences. The Hands look like they are black and the second hand has the Accutron Logo at the back-end. My Hands are Gold with Luminous Inserts and Second Hand is Gold with a Black tip. The last ad you posted is exactly correct to my Watch for exception of the Logoed Second Hand.

best

The dial color doesn't match up. 218 day date from me.

FYI: Its the Champagne Dial, Hand Applied Roman Markers.. "G" My Ad states GILT Dial so I think that is where they get the "G" from?

Thank You group.. JEV1A

Question: If watch listed for $195.00 in 1971 (year of the watch) and in the present condition how can I fairly estimate its worth today?

Thanks so much.. I would subtract at least $300.00 not original band nor buckle and in used but Excellent condition. WOW!

"I have decided that since none of the ads show the Accutron Logo at the 6:00 position but do show the Second Hand with Accutron Logo that my Watch is different in the respect I have the Bulova 2 times signed logo on the "G" Dial and the gold second hand as you see simply has a Black Enameled Tip. Interesting.. JEV1A
