Too funny now that I look back at this watch.  I gave it to my wife in 2007.  She told me she didn't like old used things and that no one would wear this watch, and she would rather have a nice new watch.  She picked out a $80 quartz watch from the five and dime, and I got it for her.  ....then I wore this watch daily for a month- to every professional meeting which I attended.  No comments other than "nice watch Will".  Took it off, listed it on fleabay, and sold it for $479.  Paid for her quartz watch used the change to buy other old watches which no one (but me) would ever wear.  I guess there's no accounting for personal taste.

Hi William!

The shape and diamond design around the face appear to be identical to my watch (VintageBaby here!). The face is slightly different, and of course the bracelet. Other than the "sassy" page watch, this is the only time I have found this shape, even after perusing the ad archive here.

I love this piece...I guess that's because I am a vintage baby! I am going to have to open the back for sure to compare! Thanks for sharing.

Me again!

Looks like a date code of M4 on the movement of my watch. So if I am correct, that would date it 1964? I saw nothing like it in the ads archive for 1964. At least part of the mystery seems to be solved!

Cheers!

Leading into the era the 'LA PETITE' would fit, also the 'DIAMOND DREAM' is shown to have 23 Jewels.

This appears to be a Diadem "DR" from this 1971 ad.  23J is a match and the 28 diamonds plus  placements seem to match.

1972 Linebook confirms the Bulova Diadem "DR" with original grey silk cord.
