I know this is an oddball for Bulova.  Basically this is a Hamilton/Buren micro-rotor.  Hamilton cal. 92 and Buren 1282.  various versions of this movement also show up in a surprising number of other respected watches.  I have a half-dozen of these movements, mostly 17j

Not absolutely sure that the case and dial are correct.  The movement is 1968

Sorry, after searching I come up with nothing to this point.

Bulova has used the Micro Rotor movt in other watches, most notably the Ambassador series.

The movt was used as the base for the worlds first automatic Chronograph, with a Chrono module by Dubois-Depraz. It was a joint effort between Hamilton/Buren, Breitling and Heuer.

Hi Reverened Bob

As you have noted, I have found this watch in a number of Ambassadors on eBay.  I went there looking to see if I could find this case anywhere, and pretty much struck out on anything with a similar works/case configuration.  It was sold to me as an Ambassador, but from what I have seen they all are signed Ambassador on the dial.  The movement is M8 and the case back is N2, so I think I was hoodwinked again.  Gonna keep it though, as I am fond of the micro-rotors, and will take some time and find out what is the right case for this dial/movement eventually.  If you are aware of what movement belongs in this case I would appreciate it.

I was aware of the chrono module on the periphery of my knowledge.  You have resparked my interest in it.  I have also seen this movement in a Universal Geneve Polerouter.  Besides the chrono, they probably do the best decoration to the works. After I finally obtain a proper Ambassador, I will likely be on the hunt for the Polerouter.

Thanx for your depth of knowledge, it helps to be steered in the right direction

I found this Dubois-Depraz moduled Buren 11 in a Philip Watch Cormoran.  Only 17 jewels, which surprises me since most watchophiles claim the Buren runs best with the big jewel on both ends of the self-winding mechanism

Not sure where the micro-rotor is though

It's odd that we have at least 15 pages of Bulova catalog pages for 1972 and this watch isn't shown. Perhaps it's not a USA model?

Hi Geoff,

I am wondering if perhaps the front of the case is from some other brand, and just happened that the dial and caseback fit?  Seems pretty far afield, but I do have an Omega that I lost the case back on and found an Elgin back that fit like a glove until I can track down the correcrt replacement back.

Whatever the answer is, this has become a riddle watch for me and I am looking to find the 67-69 case that matches this dial and movement and restore it.
