What are the directions for setting the day and date?  I can't figure it out.

New snippet in a November 1972 newspaper ad from Texas. Full ad in 70's decade thread.

I'd given this watch three ticks some time ago based on the NOS paperwork and hang tag...but an ad is always nice too!  It's weird...sometimes we see the whale on the dial...and sometimes we don't.

Edit:  The ad above shows a price of $65, but clamshell case says $75.  We have another 1972 ad showing the $75 price.  Go figure.

I have a version of this watch. No Whale (Bulova calls it a "Cetacea", Latin for marine mammal". The President "A" watches are suppose to have a "quick set" feature, but my version without the Whale doesn't seem to function that way. Can someone offer a reason why some Bulovas that appear to be the same are presented with and without the Whale symbol?

Ah, if we only knew.....we've theorized that for quite some time (ad nauseam as the Romans would say!).
